CLUB HISTORY

The Fabulous 50s & 60s Nostalgia Car Club was formed in 1995 with 12 members. The Club met monthly at Eddie’s 2 in Mastic Shirley.

The original club officers were: Bob O’Peachie - President, Kathy O’Peachie - Secretary; Dorn their daughter was Treasurer and the Road
Captain was their son-in-law Smiley.

As a club we attended local Car Shows only.  In 1996 the club went on a road cruise to Lead East.

Annual membership dues at that time was $25.00 and it was the club’s only source of income.  Post cards were mailed to members
reminding them of the date, time and place of the monthly meetings.

In 1997 with 6 members remaining Bob O’Peachie decided to move out of state with his family.  3 members remained when Andy Viola
stepped up and took over the club as President with 2 other members remaining, Ralph Passintino and Tom Lions.

In 1998 President Andy Viola started a membership drive which added 8 new members.  The new club officers under Andy were: Bill Nor-
Vice President, Secretary-Sabrina Rodriguez and Vinny Filecca-Treasurer.

In 1999 President Andy incorporated the club and obtained club insurance from Hagerty Classic Car Insurance to cover the members at
events.

In 2000 the club was running a weekly Cruise Night at Bald Hill in Farmingville.  The weekly income ranged between $300.00 to $500.00
which helped to keep our annual dues at $25.00.

By 2001 our membership increased to 18 and a new full color club logo was designed depicting classic cars surrounding a jukebox.  Full
color Embroidered Jackets, white ink silk-screened shirts and hats on a blue background were made with the new club logo.

During 2002 we started moving away from running Cruise Nights at Bald Hill and decided to do an annual Car Show as a means of
income.  Bill Nor moved away and Frank Sommer stepped up to the position of Vice President.  In 2003 Frank Sommer was elected to the
Presidency.

In 2004 Andy Viola was again elected as President. Again under President Andy the membership grew to 22.

In 2010 John Marino was elected Vice President and Wendy Brown was elected Secretary.  The Club began to judge Car Shows for
various organizations in lieu of doing an annual car show.  John Marino took on the task of spear heading club dances.  Both ventures
added income to the club.

Ken Thuilot took over the position of secretary during 2011.

Today the club has 26 members, sends out a monthly newsletter, has an informative web site and meets at the Holtsville Fire House the
second Monday of each month.  We have an Annual Picnic on the beach and a Holiday Party every year at a restaurant.  We meet at a
diner each month for breakfast and we do a lot of socializing at Car Shows and Cruise Nights.  New members are always welcome.
